WORCESTER, Mass. (February 25, 2020) – Franklin Pierce University men's basketball sophomore guard Isaiah Moore (Temple Hills, Md.) dropped a team-high 16 points to go with a game-high six assists as the Ravens squandered a halftime lead and fell to Northeast-10 Conference opponent Assumption College 84-73 Tuesday evening in the regular-season finale for both teams at Laska Gymnasium.

The loss wraps up the Ravens 2019-20 season at 15-11, 10-9 NE10 and put them in the no. 3 seed in the NE10's Northeast Division. Pierce earned a First Round bye and will travel to the Southwest Division no. 2 seed Adelphi University on Sunday for the NE10 Championship – Quarterfinal at 4:00 p.m. The Hounds finish their year at 14-12, 8-11 NE10.

Moore was 7-of-11 (63.6%) shooting on the night with five rebounds and two three-pointers. Over the last four games, Moore has averaged 19.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game while converting shots at a 55% clip (33-of-60).

Doyin Fadojutimi (Temple Hills, Md.) was one rebound shy of a double-double for the fifth time this season as he produced 14 points and a game-high nine boards. Maxwell Zegarowski (South Hamilton, Mass.) tallied 13 points in 28 minutes off the bench.

Four players scored in double-digits for the hosts. Guard Branislav Vujadinovic caught fire in the second half tallying 16 of his 22 points in the stanza to pace all scorers. Jordan White and Isiah Gaiter had 13 and 10 points respectively with Gaiter narrowly missing out on a double-double (nine rebounds).

Assumption turned a 14 point halftime deficit into an 11 point victory off their shooting as they were 21-of-35 (60.0%) in the second half while the Ravens cooled down to 30.6% (11-of-36) after starting off the contest at 47.4% (18-of-38).

Both teams traded shots in the early going as Moore and White swapped buckets to make it an 8-7 game in favor of Assumption. Pierce would go in a 12-0 binge with Fadojutimi being the catalyst skipping a pass from the wing to the corner for a Brandon Kolek (Cumberland, R.I.) trey and a drive through traffic to open up the first double-digit lead of the game 19-8 at the 10:35 mark.

The Hounds crawled back into the game via a 13-2 run of their own capped off by a Cal Connelly trifecta from the top of the point to tie the contest 21-21. The game of runs continued as a 16-3 Raven outburst opened up a 37-24 edge. FPU kept tacking on when Sam van Oostrum (Sheffield, England) hit is second three in as many games and Sean Fasoyiro (Houston, Texas) rained a three-ball to give Franklin Pierce their largest lead at 45-28. Two White freebies at the 22-second mark established a 45-31 game at the break.

Pierce started the second half off converting a long-range attempt to reassert the 17 point cushion. A 23-7 Assumption run that ended with a Gaiter lay-in turned the multiple possession game into a one-possession contest, 55-54 with 12:56 left. FPU rebuilt a three-possession lead when Moore moved them ahead 67-58 with under nine minutes to go hitting on a three-pointer.

Assumption dropped the margin back down to six, 67-61 off a three-ball from the left corner off the shot of Vujadinovic. Another triple from Vujadinovic on the left corner pulled Assumption within three, 67-64. Kelly continued the three-point barrage in the right corner to deadlock the score 67-67. Assumption continued their attack with a fast break layup via a Vujadinovic steal and bucket to take a 69-67 lead following a Raven timeout. Vujadinovic concluded the 14-2 run with his third three and 11th point of the run to push the home squad in front 72-69 with 4:37 left. Pierce came within one point of tying the game twice, but they went 0-for-6 to close the game over the final 3:13 of the duel.
