RINDGE, N.H. (February 12, 2020) – It was a special night in The Fieldhouse as Franklin Pierce University men's basketball senior team captain Doyin Fadojutimi (Temple Hills, Md.) scored a career-high 41 points during an 85-79 Raven victory against Northeast-10 Conference opponent Stonehill College Wednesday evening.

The Ravens who received votes in the final edition of the D2SIDA Men's Basketball East Region Media Poll, improve to 14-8, 9-6 NE10 on the year including an impressive 9-1 mark on their home court while the no. 8 regionally-ranked Skyhawks slide to 14-10, 10-6 NE10.

Fadojutimi was 14-of-19 (73.7%) shooting and was 9-of-13 (69.2%) from three-point land. The nine three-point connections tied the program record for most three-balls in a single game which was set by Shanendon Cartwright on January 25, 1997, against the University of Bridgeport. The highly efficient night from deep from Fadojutimi was just what the doctor ordered as he was stuck in an 8-of-45 (17.8%) rut over his last eight games.

His 41-point effort was the most during a game since Matt Banton dropped 38 points on the road in a 102-97 overtime victory at Stonehill on February 4, 2017. He bettered his previous career-high of 36 points which was established earlier in the season at Saint Anselm on November 23, 2019. It was the fourth time he has recorded 30 or more points in a game this season. Fadojutimi chipped in a team-high eight rebounds while coming away with a game-high two steals and two blocks for good measure.

Junior guard Sean Fasoyiro (Houston, Texas) and sophomore forward Maxwell Zegarowski (South Hamilton, Mass.) joined Fadojutimi in double-figures with 13 and 11 points respectively off the bench. Freshman forward Antonio Chandler (Piscataway, N.J.) produced five markers and five rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench while Sam van Oostrum (Sheffield, England) dumped in four points, handed out a game-high five dimes, snagged three caroms and came away with two steals.

The Raven bench outscored the Skyhawks 33-to-10 and it was much needed as the four other Raven starters combined for 11 points off 3-of-23 (13.0%) shooting. FPU's long-range assault was also important as they drilled 16 threes in 35 attempts (45.7%) compared to 11 in 27 (40.7%) for the guests.

For Stonehill, Will Moreton double-doubled with a team-high 26 points and contest-best 14 rebounds, however, he was careless with the ball committing a game-high nine turnovers. Moreton tallied 19 points and eight rebounds in the second half. Owen Chose added 23 points of his own with five three-pointers.

The Skyhawks started fast with eight straight points to open the battle giving them their biggest lead of the game, 8-0 off a Chose second chance three on the left-wing. Pierce responded with a 12-3 run of their own to put the home team ahead for the first time 12-11 with Fadojutimi beginning the Raven scoring rising up for his first triple and adding a second while Fasoyiro tacked on six markers.

A few possessions later, Chose drained a left-wing chance to make it a four-point, 19-15 Stonehill edge. Falu Seck (Washington, D.C.) and Zegarowski hit on trifectas to deadlock the match at 21-21 with 7:14 until the break. Trailing 23-21, the Ravens embarked on a 17-3 binge to grow the advantage to double-figures for the first time 38-26 off two Fadojutimi three-balls, two Fasoyiro beyond the arc connections, one from the top of the point and the other in the right corner and a Chandler and1. Stonehill guard Brandon Twitty brought the margin under double-digits at the intermission as the Ravens led 41-32.

Fadojutimi scored 20 points in the first half going 6-for-8 (75.0%) and 6-of-7 (85.7%) from range. Fasoyiro racked up 12 of his 13 points in the first half as well.

With the Raven advantage cut to seven at the 16:00 mark, FPU poured in seven in a row including a Zegarowski right-wing three and a Chandler reverse up and under layup to give FPU their largest lead at 55-41. The margin stayed around 10-to-12 points over the next couple of minutes as Moreton cut it to two possessions, 63-57 with 6:57 to go.

A minute passed when Fadojutimi drew a charge on Moreton and knocked down a three on the ensuing trip down the court to regain the nine-point Raven lead at the 5:42 mark. Moreton scored the next five points in the game to draw his squad within four, 68-64. Seck responded by sinking a three while being fouled on the left-wing and completing the rare four-point play doubling the margin to 72-64.

A Fadojutimi slash through the left and a Zegarowski three reestablished the double-digit lead 77-67 with 3:12 left. One last Stonehill surge, a Moreton layup and three with an Andrew Sims tip-in dropped the deficit to three, 77-74 with 47 seconds left. Fadojutimi then iced the game sinking a step-back three from the top of the point with Moreton in his face to put his team ahead 80-74. Fadojutimi got his 40th and 41st points on free throws with 12 seconds left.

The Ravens hit the road for their final game of the week on Saturday when they play conference opponent Saint Michael's College (7-15, 4-11 NE10) at 3:30 p.m.
