RINDGE, N.H. (February 4, 2020) – Franklin Pierce University men's basketball sophomore guard Isaiah Moore (Temple Hills, Md.) scored a career-high 18 points as the Ravens stopped their two-game slide and improve to 8-1 on their home court with an 89-83 victory over Northeast-10 Conference and interstate rival Southern New Hampshire University Tuesday evening at The Fieldhouse. The win sends the crimson and grey to 13-8 overall and 8-6 NE10 while the Penmen skid to 13-9, 6-8 NE10.

Moore was efficient from the field knocking down 8-of-12 (66.7%) of his shot attempts. He dished out four assists, grabbed two rebounds and blocked one shot. He was one of six Ravens in double-digit points. Fellow starter Jameson Pierrelus (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) matched a season-high with 14 points off 6-of-8 (75%) shooting in 19 minutes of play. Falu Seck (Washington, D.C.) tied his teammate with 14 points of his own.

Maxwell Zegarowski (South Hamilton, Mass.) came off the bench for 13 markers (5-of-10 FG) and Sean Fasoyiro (Houston, Texas) had 11 points and four rebounds in 15 minutes of play. Sam van Oostrum (Sheffield, England) scored six points and totaled a career-high with a contest-best 10 assists, a total he's reached for the third time this season. Starting guard Doyin Fadojutimi (Temple Hills, Md.) was one rebound shy of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

For the Penmen, Shawn Montague manufactured a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 11 rebounds. Corry Long converted 70% (7-of-10) of his shot attempts for 16 points as SNHU went with only an eight-man rotation due to injuries.

As a team, Pierce buried 52.3% of their shot attempts compared to the Penmen 47.8%. The Ravens also outrebounded (38-to-34) and scored 30 bench points, 23 more than their counterparts (30-to-7).

Moore tied the game for Pierce at 7-7 when he drained a three from the right-wing. With the game even 14-14, a Pierrelus wing three-ball started an 11-2 Raven run fueled by the three-pointer, with a Zegarowski trailing transition triple and Fasoyiro taking a feed from van Oostrum built the hosts a 25-16 advantage at the 11:58 mark.

A Justyn Lacy baseline take dropped the margin to 28-26 with 6:19 to go in the half. The Ravens would go on a 17-7 burst to give them their largest lead of the game, 12 points 45-33 as van Oostrum scored four of his six points during the game shaping stretch as well as adding a steal and a block on two straight possessions. FPU led 47-37 at the intermission.

The Penmen would not go away as they came out of the locker room firing on all cylinders to the tune of a 16-4 binge to snag the lead 53-51 off the strength of a Michael Almonacy fast-break left-wing triple. Fasoyiro put a brief halt to the scoring stretch with a layup to tie the game before SNHU expanded their margin to three, 56-53 using another trifecta. Falu Seck countered with a fast break three on the right-wing to deadlock the score 56 all with 12:29 to play.

Over the next couple of minutes, Pierrelus would start to do work down in the paint combined with back-to-back Moore and Fadojutimi threes to regain the double-digit lead towards the home side via a 20-8 run to lead 76-66 with 3:32 to go. Fadojuitimi slammed down a dunk while being fouled for the hoop and harm pushing Pierce ahead 81-69. SNHU began to foul with two minutes to go and they eventually cut the score to two possessions, 87-83, but the Ravens stayed the course and picked up the victory.

Franklin Pierce will be back in action next Wednesday, February 12th against conference opponent Stonehill College at 7:30 p.m.
