SYRACUSE, N.Y. (January 14, 2020) – During the previous two games, Franklin Pierce University men's basketball senior guard Doyin Fadojutimi (Temple Hills, Md.) was one rebound shy of a double-double. Well, he recorded one tonight scoring 12 markers while grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds en route to his second double-double of the year and the fourth of his career during an 84-74 defeat to Northeast-10 Conference opponent Le Moyne College Tuesday evening on Ted Grant Court.

The win, the eighth over the past nine games for the Dolphins moves their mark to 11-5, 7-1 NE10 while the Ravens four-game winning streak came to an end as they drop to 10-5, 5-3 NE10.

Fadojutimi struggled shooting the rock in this one putting together his lowest shooting percentage this season. His 12 points were also the smallest total he's scored in a game. Sophomore guard Brandon Kolek (Cumberland, R.I.) carried the load on offense with a team-high 13 points. He was one of six Ravens who tallied double-digit points. Maxwell Zegarowski (South Hamilton, Mass.) had an efficient game shooting 4-of-8 (50%) from the field with all of his shots coming from deep. He snagged six rebounds as well. Sam van Oostrum (Sheffield, England) matched a career-high with 10 assists, a feat he achieved versus Cheyney on December 14th in the first semester.

Tom Brown was the leader for the hosts notching a double-double of his own with 17 points, all of which came in the second half and a game-high 15 caroms. Ryan Roland nearly had a double-double with a contest-best 19 points and chipping in nine dimes for good measure.

Le Moyne held the edge in shooting (45.1%-to-37.7%), turnovers (22 FPU, 12 LC) and in the paint (40-to-26). Franklin Pierce never led in the showdown.

Roland kicked off the contest with a driving deuce assisted by Malik Garner. Two Fadojutimi freebies were the first points for Pierce as they tied the game 2-2 in the early stages. From that point, the Dolphins went on a 13-4 spurt with Roland producing nine points during the binge to lead 15-6 at the 14:29 mark. Senior guard Falu Seck (Washington, D.C.) cut into the deficit with a triple of his own at 19-14. Le Moyne increased their lead to double digits 25-14 as Tim Leavell buried back-to-back trifectas after the Seck three. The Ravens brought the margin down to seven, 27-20 when Kolek hit on a right corner triple.

With 3:02 left in the first half, Garner drained a jumper to reestablish a nine-point 38-29 advantage. Over the final minutes, Pierce outscored Le Moyne 7-2 off two Sean Fasoyiro (Houston, Texas) lay-ins and a Zegarowski trifecta to go into the second half trailing by two possessions, 41-36.

In the second half with the Ravens down 11, 47-36. Freshman forward Antonio Chandler (Piscataway, N.J.) kick-started a 12-2 Raven run by connecting on a three-ball. Chandler's three-pointer was the start of four in a row for the visiting team with Zegarowski making two threes and Kolek swishing one to put them within one, 49-48. Following a Dolphin make, Chandler jammed home a dunk to keep his squad behind 51-50.

Trailing by four, Fadojutimi corralled a skip pass from the opposite wing by Isaiah Moore (Temple Hills, Md.) for his first three-pointer of the ball game. The teams traded blows over the next few possessions as Fasoyiro converted a touch layup in the restricted area to again put his team behind by one, 57-56.

After a media timeout, Le Moyne strung together six consecutive markers off two free throws and two buckets to jump ahead 63-56 with 8:51 left. The Ravens looked to cool the Dolphin momentum with a timeout, but Roland stole the rock and buried a jumper stretching their straight point total to eight. Kolek went to the line for three freebies and made only one and Brown powered through the post for two, capping off a 10-1 binge and more importantly giving LC a 10 point, 67-57 edge with 7:35 to go.

Pierce was behind by double digits, 71-60 then another Zegarowski triple and a Moore steal to fast-break layup brought Pierce within six, 71-65. Brown eventually iced the game pushing his team back ahead by 11 when he sank a three and took the ball to the rack for a layup.

The Ravens return to the friendly confines of the Fieldhouse on Saturday when they host the College of Saint Rose for a 3:30 p.m. tip-off.
