SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 11, 2020) – For the second consecutive game, Franklin Pierce University men's basketball senior guard Doyin Fadojutimi (Temple Hills, Md.) was a rebound shy of a double-double as he scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed a contest-best nine rebounds in the Ravens fourth straight win, a 70-56 decision over Northeast-10 Conference opponent American International College Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Ravens improve to 10-4, 5-2 NE10 while the Yellow Jackets slip to 5-11, 1-4 NE10.

Fadojutimi shot well from the floor going 8-of-16 (50%) from the hardwood. He also came up with two steals and blocked one shot. He was joined in double figures by classmate Falu Seck (Washington, D.C.) and freshman Sean Bresnan (Yonkers, N.Y.). Seck filled the box score with 12 markers, a game-high six assists, and five rebounds. Bresnan scored all 12 of his points in the second half. Sophomore forward Maxwell Zegarowski (South Hamilton, Mass.) tallied seven points and four rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench.

AIC was led by starter Xion Golding who scored 10 points and came away with seven boards. Jordan Vidal paced all Yellow Jacket players with a team-high 11 points. The 56 points the Ravens allowed was the lowest point total they've allowed all season. It also matches the fewest points FPU has let up since a 90-56 victory on January 7, 2015, against Saint Michael's College.

Pierce was the better team shooting the three-ball going 37% (10-of-27) from distance compared to 15.8% (3-of-19) by the home team. FPU also scored 19 points off the 20 AIC turnovers.

AIC began the contest when Zekiah Owens split a pair of free throws at the line. Fadojutimi fed Seck on the wing for the Ravens opening points then a minute and a half later, Fadojutimi converted a jumper putting his team in front 5-1. Five consecutive markers by the Yellow Jackets including a Shyheim Hicks three put them back ahead 6-5. With the match tied at 7-7, Pierce went on a 15-4 scoring binge to double up their counterparts 22-11 as Sean Fasoyiro (Houston, Texas) knocked down a right corner three fed to him off a drive by Seck, Zegarowski drained a left-wing three and Fadojutimi poked the ball away from Branislav Terzic, went to the rack and jammed down a one-handed attempt with authority.

FPU's edge was cut to seven, 24-17 following an Owens jumper at the 3:32 mark. They would outscore the hosts 8-3 over the final three minutes of play including two Zegarowski freebies to expand the advantage to a first-half high of 14 before Jordan Vidal's layup ended the half with Pierce leading 32-20.

Both teams struggled shooting in the first half with FPU going 34.3% (12-of-35) from the hardwood and AIC shooting 27.6% (8-of-29) The Ravens capitalized on the Yellow Jacket miscues scoring 10 points of their 15 turnovers compared to only three points off the Ravens 13 mistakes.

In the second half, Isaiah Moore (Temple Hills, Md.) took the rock to the hole on two consecutive possessions to start, his second bucket was the most impressive using a spin move in traffic for the deuce to up the Pierce lead to 36-20. AIC pulled within 12, 46-34 with 11:25 left to play using six consecutive points. From there the Ravens proceeded to go on a game shaping 17-4 binge as back-to-back treys off the shot of Jameson Pierrelus (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) and Bresnan were the catalysts as the Ravens led by a high of 25, 63-38. AIC eventually closed the gap, but the Ravens still rolled to victory.

The Ravens remain on the road for their final game of the road swing at conference opponent Le Moyne College Tuesday, January 14 at 7:00 p.m.
