Field Hockey Drops NE10 Contest to Pace, 4-0

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. (10/19/24) - Franklin Pierce University field hockey faced the setters of Paced University on their annual day of celebration for their seniors. Four different Setters scored in their victory.  

RECORDS:  

  • FPU: 1-13 (1-8 NE10)  
  • PACE: 9-5 (6-3)  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Setters wasted no time in the contest as two seniors contributed to the opening goal after Krista Dietz found Jenna McCrudden at the four-minute mark.  
  • In the second quarter, defender Enya Manzanera celebrated her first career goal off an assist from patience Mares.  
  • Coming out of the half, both defenses flicked the switch as neither side found the back of the twine until the 40-minute mark. After a pile-up in the crease, Dietz snuck a shot past Raven's goalkeeper Zoe Noorlag (Amersfoort, Netherlands). Just two minutes later, Nadia Pavlik scored a point giving Pace a 4-0 advantage which held the rest of the way.  

INSIDE THE LINES:  

  • The Setters outshot the Ravens 29-10.  

  • Noorlag and Addy Araneo (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) combined for 17 saves. 13 of them from Noorlag.  

 
  • The Setters had 13 penalty corners while the Ravens completed 1.  

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The field hockey team returns home to Sodexo Field when they host Saint Michael's, Wednesday afternoon. The game is set for 4 PM.
