RINDGE, N.H. (09/13/24) – The Franklin Pierce Ravens field hockey team couldn't start their season at home with a win, falling short against the Maryville University Saints, 4-1 at Sodexo Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Ravens started off the game with a bang, scoring 6:15 into the first quarter. Cecelia Keller (Biddeford, Maine) fed a pass to Aria Caputo (Gloucester, Mass.), slotting it home for the 1-0 Raven lead.

The rest of the game didn't treat the Ravens kindly. The Saints struck for two goals in the second quarter off the sticks of Delanie Winkelmann and Tia Sansone, taking the 2-1 lead into the halftime break.

The Saints controlled the possession in the 2nd half as well. Consu Torres Moore scored twice to give the Saints a comfortable 4-1 lead, which they wouldn't relinquish for the remainder of the game, defeating the Ravens in non-conference play.
