Simeone has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor
Roll.RINDGE, N.H. (November 16, 2010) – Senior midfielder Kayla Simeone (North Kingstown, R.I.) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Nov. 14, as announced Monday by the conference office.
The Ravens played only one game last week and Simeone was active offensively in it. She scored the first two goals of the game in the first half as Franklin Pierce went on to post a 4-2 victory over Southern Connecticut State in the regular season finale.
On the season, Simeone is third on the team with 17 points. She has collected six goals to go with five assists while playing in all 18 games, and starting all but one, for the Ravens. On Sept. 29 against Saint Anselm, Simeone set school single-game records with four goals and nine points.
The Ravens return to the field on Tuesday afternoon, when they travel to American International for the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Championship. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Ronald J. Abdow Field in Springfield, Mass. It is the second postseason appearance for Franklin Pierce in the last three years.
