Bentley Blanks Franklin Pierce, 3-0

WALTHAM, Mass. (October 25, 2003) – Freshman Mary Rogers (Watertown Mass./Watertown) scored twice in the first half to help Bentley past Franklin Pierce, 3-0 in the final field hockey game of the 2003 Northeast-10 regular season.

Rogers put the Falcons on the board with 19:31 left in the first on a pass from Jenn Walker (Lyman, Maine/ Massabesic) and added her second goal of the game with 3:15 left, converting a feed from junior Amy Tufts (Danville, N.H./Timberlane Regional).

The third goal of the game for Bentley came with 9:10 remaining in the second half as Amanda Deppe (Atkinson, N.H./Timberlane Regional) sent home a pass from Tufts.

Franklin Pierce sophomore goalkeeper Brandi Guertin (Bellingham, Mass./Bellingham) stopped 21 shots before being relieved by freshman Amanda Pietrazsuk (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) who entered for the Ravens with 11:25 left in regulation and stopped three shots. Falcon’s goalkeeper senior Liz Novis (Watertown, Mass./Watertown) recorded two saves.

Franklin Pierce ends the 2003 season with an 8-8 record in the Northeast-10, 9-9 overall.
