Football Makes History with 55-20 Victory Over Post

RINDGE, N.H. (10/19/24) - Franklin Pierce University's football team devliered a record-breaking performance in a 55-20 triumph over Post University, socring the most points in program history, Saturday afternoon. The Ravens were unstoppable on both sides of the ball, controlling possession, piliing up 433 total yards of offense, and showcasing a powerful defense that secured key turnovers.  

RECORDS:  

  • FPU: 3-3 (3-1 NE10)  
  • POST: 1-6 (0-5 NE10)  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The game kicked off in favor of the Eagles as Post's Zachary Jones intercepted a pass from the Ravens, returning it for a touchdown to lead 7-0 from the start.  

  • The Ravens would respond as Reimello Hyde (Nashua, N.H.)would take the ball on a run to get the Ravens an even score on the board.  

  • Post would answer quickly with a 12-yard rushing touchdown by Isaiah Emmanuel, regaining a 14-7 lead. However, Franklin Pierce's offense, led by Hyde once again, responded with an 8-yeard touchdown run to tie the game at 14-14.  

  • The second quarter saw Franklin Pierce's offense grind through a 95-yard drive, capped by another short touchdown run from Hyde. As the clock wound down to just four seconds before halftime, quarterback Adrian Parker (Manchester, Conn.) connected with Kameron Massey (East Hartford, Conn.) on a 40-yard touchdown pass, giving the Ravens a 21-14 lead heading into halftime. This quick 4-play drive in just 51 seconds showed the Ravens' explosive capability and set the tone for the rest of the game. 

  • The Ravens came out firing in the third quarter, extending their lead on a 5-yard touchdown run by Alex Benitez (Belle Meade, N.J.), followed by a game-changing play on defense. Damir Stone (East Orange, N.J.) intercepted Post's quarterback Malakai Taylor and returned it 60 yards for a touchdown, electrifying the crowd and stretching the lead to 34-14. Franklin Pierce's momentum continued as Guerschom Guerrier (Napes, Fla.) added another score with a 1-yard touchdown run, pushing the lead to 41-14. 

  • Post responded late in the quarter with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Taylor to Joshua Tracey, but it wasn't enough to stop Franklin Pierce's dominant run. 

  • The fourth quarter saw Franklin Pierce's ground game dominate as Hyde scored his third touchdown of the day on a 10-yard run, further padding the lead to 48-20. Montez Boswell (New Berlin, N.Y.) added the final touchdown of the game on a 9-yard run, capping a 4-play, 23-yard drive, and setting the score at 55-20, the most points the team has ever scored in a single game. 

INSIDE THE LINES:  

  • The FPU offense finished with 228 rushing yards and 205 pashing years.  

  • Hyde contributed three rushing touchdowns.  

  • Parker added 205 passing yards and a touchdown.  

  • On defense, the Ravens held Post to just 70 rushing yards and forced two interceptions, including Stone's 60-yard pick-six. The Ravens' defense allowed only one fourth-down conversion out of five attempts.
