SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (10/12/24) - Franklin Pierce University's football team dominated American International College in a 41-14 victory, powered by a balanced offensive attack and a stifling defense.

RECORDS:

  • FPU: 2-3 (2-1 NE10)
  • AIC: 1-5 (0-3 NE10)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Ravens struck early in the first quarter, capping off a 12-play, 86-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run by Guerschom Guerrier (Naples, Fla.) to take a 7-0 lead. They quickly extended their advantage when Adrian Parker (Manchester, Conn.) connected with Austyn Howe (Newington, Conn.) on a 39-yard touchdown pass, completing a two-play, 41-yard drive and putting Franklin Pierce up 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.

  • Franklin Pierce continued their offensive onslaught in the second quarter, highlighted by a 28-yard touchdown run from Alex Benitez (Belle Meade, N.J.) after a 92-yard drive. Moments later, after a fumble recovery deep in AIC territory, Reimello Hyde (Nashua, N.H.) punched it in from 10 yards out, pushing the lead to 27-0. AIC finally got on the board late in the second quarter with a 4-yard touchdown run by Connor Dietz, but the Ravens entered halftime with a commanding 27-7 advantage.

  • In the third quarter, the Ravens picked up where they left off. Parker found Tristan Johnson (Syracuse, N.Y.) for a 4-yard touchdown pass, finishing off a 9-play, 85-yard drive. AIC responded with a 31-yard touchdown run by Dietz, but Franklin Pierce quickly answered back. Parker tossed his third touchdown of the day, once again connecting with Howe, this time on a 20-yard strike to extend the lead to 41-14.

INSIDE THE LINES:

  • The Ravens' offense was unstoppable, amassing 489 yards of total offense compared to AIC's 214.

  • QB Adrian Parker had an outstanding day, completing 25 of 40 passes for 346 yards and 3 touchdowns, with no interceptions.

  • Franklin Pierce's rushing attack was also effective, led by Benitez's 28-yard score and solid contributions from Guerrier and Hyde.

  • Defensively, the Ravens held AIC to just 11 first downs and a mere 8% third-down conversion rate (1 of 13).

  • They also sacked AIC's quarterback three times and recorded two interceptions, while controlling the time of possession with over 33 minutes.
