Franklin Pierce Baseball Dominates Doubleheader Against Saint Michael’s

RINDGE, N.H. (4/2/25) -  The Franklin Pierce baseball team delivered a commanding performance on Wednesday, sweeping a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader against Saint Michael's College with decisive 13-2 and 14-8 victories at Pappas Field. The Ravens, who received votes in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region poll, improved to .500 on the season.

GAME 1: Franklin Pierce 13, Saint Michael's 2

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After Saint Michael's took a brief 1-0 lead in the first, Franklin Pierce responded quickly, as Julien Monks tied the game with an RBI single in the second.

  • The Ravens took control in the third with back-to-back homers from Ivan Arias and Lugo, making it 4-1.

  • Lugo, Quiros, and Boyd all went deep between the fourth and fifth innings, extending the lead.

  • Lugo capped off his monster game with a two-run homer in the sixth to seal the dominant win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Lugo picked up where he left off, launching a three-run homer as part of a five-run first inning for Franklin Pierce.

  • After Saint Michael's briefly closed the gap with a four-run second inning, the Ravens rebuilt their lead behind clutch hits from Joey Acker and Anthony Marcano.

  • Lugo's second homer of the game highlighted a six-run seventh inning, putting the game out of reach.

  • Elias Meredith capped off the scoring with an RBI single in the eighth to secure the sweep.
