The Postseason is Here: Winter Sports Begin Playoffs Tomorrow

RINDGE, N.H. (2/27/25) - The winter sports season has reached the postseason, and three Franklin Pierce teams are set to compete in their respective conference playoffs starting tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 28.
Women's Ice Hockey
After securing second place in the regular season, the Franklin Pierce women's ice hockey team will host No. 7 seed Post University in a best-of-three quarterfinal series. All games will take place at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena at the Winchendon School:
- Game 1: Friday, Feb. 28 – 4:00 p.m.
- Game 2: Saturday, March 1 – 7:30 p.m.
- Game 3 (if necessary): Sunday, March 2 – 7:00 p.m.
The winner will advance to the semifinals on Wednesday, March 5, hosted by the higher seed, with the championship game scheduled for Saturday, March 8.
Franklin Pierce and Post split their regular-season matchups, each winning one game at home and one on the road. Mikayla Kelley (Eagan, Minn.) and Brynn Levinson (Glencoe, Ill.) lead the Ravens with 24 points each. Kelley has registered 10 goals and 14 assists, while Levinson has tallied 15 goals and 9 assists, ranking second in the league in goals scored.
Tickets for all NEWHA playoff games will be available for purchase at the arena. Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, children, and students.
Women's Basketball
The Franklin Pierce women's basketball team enters the NE10 Tournament as the No. 11 seed and will travel to face No. 6 Assumption in the first round. The game is set for Friday, Feb. 28, with a 5:30 p.m. tip-off in Worcester, Mass. The winner will advance to face No. 3 New Haven on Sunday, March 2, at 2:00 p.m. in West Haven, Conn.
The teams split their two regular-season meetings. Assumption edged out a one-point overtime victory in the first matchup, but Franklin Pierce responded with a dominant 59-44 win in Rindge. Leading the way for the Ravens is Colette Mulderig (Scranton, Pa.), who ranks third in the NE10 in scoring with 15.9 points per game. She also leads the conference in rebounding, totaling 228 boards this season (9.1 per game).
Men's Basketball
Franklin Pierce men's basketball also enters the NE10 Tournament as the No. 11 seed and will visit No. 6 Southern Connecticut for a first-round showdown on Friday, Feb. 28, at 7:00 p.m. The winner will move on to face No. 3 Bentley on Sunday, March 2, at 3:30 p.m.
Southern Connecticut swept the regular-season series, winning 105-74 on Jan. 18 and 107-65 on Feb. 22. Donte Pope (Middletown, Conn.) has been a standout performer for the Ravens, ranking second in the NE10 with 20.5 points per game and totaling 574 points so far this season.
