Peter Arsenault Named Head Coach of Franklin Pierce Tennis Programs

RINDGE, N.H. (July 26, 2016) – Franklin Pierce University Director of Athletics Bruce Kirsh has announced Peter Arsenault has been named head coach of the University’s men’s and women’s tennis programs. Arsenault brings Northeast-10 Conference experience with him, as he previously served as head coach at Merrimack.
Hannah Griffin Named Head Coach of Franklin Pierce Softball Program

RINDGE, N.H. (July 21, 2016) – Franklin Pierce University Director of Athletics Bruce Kirsh has announced Hannah Griffin has been named the 11th head coach in the Division II era (since 1989) of the University’s softball program. Griffin has spent the previous three seasons as a head coach at the NAIA level with Union (Ky.) College.
Bowling Puts Six on NTCA All-Academic Team

RINDGE, N.H. (July 14, 2016) -- Six members of the Franklin Pierce University women’s bowling team have been named to the 2015-2016 National Tenpin Coaches Association All- Academic Team, as announced earlier this summer by the NTCA.
272 Ravens Land on Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll

RINDGE, N.H. (July 13, 2016) – A total of 272 student-athletes in the Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics have been named to the 2016 spring semester edition of the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll, as announced earlier this summer by the Conference office. In addition, 11 student-athletes garnered perfect, 4.0 grade-point averages.
Franklin Pierce to Add Men’s Bowling as Sub-Varsity Sport in 2017-18

RINDGE, N.H. (July 12, 2016) – The Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics has announced the addition of men’s bowling as a sub-varsity sport. The program will be led by head women’s bowling coach Kim Berit, and will begin competition in the 2017-18 academic year.
Bird Named Sport Excellence Recipient; Seven Ravens Earn Spots on NE-10 Academic All-Conference Teams

RINDGE, N.H. (July 11, 2016) – Senior right-hander Tanner Bird (Adams, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been named his sport’s Sport Excellence award winner by the Northeast-10 Conference, as announced earlier this month by the Conference office. In addition, Bird, teammate and senior shortstop Justin Brock (Latham, N.Y.), women’s golf sophomore Anna Haynes (Hopedale, Mass.), men’s lacrosse junior midfielder Nick Bradshaw (Westbury, N.Y.), women’s lacrosse senior midfielder Lauren Beville (Jamesville, N.Y.), men’s track & field junior Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.) and women’s track & field senior Nadine Hyde (Maple Valley, Wash.) have all earned Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors. The selected Ravens were among a record 106 student-athletes across 10 sports honored by the Northeast-10.
Jayson King Resigns as Head Baseball Coach; Mike Chambers Promoted to Interim Head Coach

RINDGE, N.H. (July 8, 2016) – Seven-time NCAA regional champion and six-time ABCA/Rawlings Region Coach of the Year Jayson King has tendered his resignation as head coach of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team, effective later this month, as announced on Friday by the institution. In a corresponding move on Friday, Director of Athletic Bruce Kirsh has appointed assistant coach Mike Chambers as the program’s interim head coach for the 2016-17 academic year.
Franklin Pierce Athletics Adds Three to Support Staff

RINDGE, N.H. (July 7, 2016) – Franklin Pierce University Director of Athletics Bruce Kirsh has announced three additions to the support staff of the University’s Department of Athletics. Matthew Cerullo has been hired as Assistant Director of Athletic Communication, Makina Itchkavich-Levasseur has been tabbed as Assistant Athletic Trainer, and Marcus Williams has been brought aboard as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach.
2007 Men’s Soccer National Championship Team Inducted into Northeast-10 Hall of Fame

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (June 9, 2016) – The 2007 Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team, which captured the national championship, has been inducted into the Northeast-10 Conference Hall of Fame, as announced by the Conference office at the league’s annual banquet earlier this week. The Ravens were among three teams and six individuals inducted by the Northeast-10.
233 Student-Athletes Earn GPAs of 3.3 or Higher During Spring Semester to be Named to Athletic Department Honor Roll

RINDGE, N.H. (June 7, 2016) – A total of 233 student-athletes in the Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics have been named to the 2016 spring semester edition of the Athletic Department Honor Roll, as announced Tuesday. The number represents an increase of eight student-athletes from the fall semester. In addition, 12 student-athletes garnered perfect, 4.0 grade-point averages. In all, 16 of the University’s 25 varsity squads eclipsed the 3.0 mark.
Franklin Pierce Finishes Eighth in Northeast-10 Presidents’ Cup

(June 7, 2016) – Franklin Pierce University has finished eighth in the 2015-16 Northeast-10 Conference Presidents’ Cup, as announced Monday night by the Conference office at the league’s year-end banquet. The Ravens are down three spots from last year’s best-ever fifth-place finish, but also finished just 7.5 points behind sixth-place Assumption.
Brian Fazzino Named First Head Coach of Franklin Pierce Women’s Swimming Program

(June 2, 2016) – Franklin Pierce University Director of Athletics Bruce Kirsh has announced Brian Fazzino has been named the first-ever head coach of the University's women's swimming program. Fazzino has a total of four years of experience as a collegiate assistant coach at three institutions, and has spent time in all three NCAA divisions.
Department of Athletics Hosts Annual Hall of Fame Induction & Student-Athlete Awards Ceremony

(May 4, 2016) -- This past Sunday evening, the Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics held its annual Hall of Fame Induction and Student-Athlete Awards Ceremony in the Fieldhouse. The University's student-athlete body, Athletics staff, distinguished alumni and President Card were all on-hand to both celebrate the present and honor the past, while the ceremony served as a finale to the institution's 53rd academic year.
Jeanette Wedo Named Head Coach of Franklin Pierce Women’s Basketball Program

(April 21, 2016) – Franklin Pierce University Director of Athletics Bruce Kirsh has announced Jeanette Wedo has been named the 14th head coach of the University’s women’s basketball program. Wedo has spent the previous 10 seasons as an assistant coach at three different Division I institutions and comes to Rindge after a three-year stint at The College of William & Mary.

(April 6, 2016) – Junior Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University men’s track & field team has been named his sport’s Sport Excellence award winner by the Northeast-10 Conference, as announced on Wednesday by the Conference office. In addition, Holmes, along with women’s basketball senior forward Kara Charette (Fairhaven, Mass.) and men’s ice hockey sophomore forward Jonathan Haun (Buffalo, N.Y.), has earned Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors. The selected Ravens were among 62 student-athletes across seven sports honored by the Northeast-10.

RINDGE, N.H. (March 23, 2016) – Junior third baseman Jay Jabs (Schwenksville, Pa.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, as announced on Monday by the Conference office. He led four Ravens who earned weekly honors from their conference, as sophomore Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) of the women’s golf team was named Northeast-10 Women’s Golfer of the Week, freshman Andrew Schadt (Tolland, Conn.) of the men’s tennis team was named Northeast-10 Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week and sophomore Colleen Kelly (Quincy, Mass.) of the bowling team was named East Coast Conference Bowler of the Week. In addition, four other Ravens landed on their sport’s respective Weekly Honor Roll.
