Women’s Cross Country Finishes 22nd at Lewis Cross Country

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (October 9, 2021) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's cross country team traveled to the greater Chicago area this weekend to compete in the Lewis Crossover, which featured the strongest field the team will face all year, with many nationally ranking teams competing as well. Overall, the Ravens accumulated 672 points to finish 22nd out of 25 total teams.

First to cross the line for the Ravens was graduate student Bethaney Donnelly (Manchester, United Kingdom), who finished 48th, in a field of 250, for her 23:25 time across the 6k course. Next was sophomore Victoria Van Houten (Wantage, N.J.), who claimed 208th for her 26:24 time. In 223rd was sophomore Meghan Sheline (Southington, Conn.), who finished in 27:27. After her was sophomore Jasmin Baillargeon (South Wheelock, Vt.), who claimed 231st for her 28:00 time.

Right behind was sophomore Meagan Foley (Beverly, Mass.) in 234th for her 28:06 time, to round out the team's scoring five. Foley was followed by senior Alana Thompson (Westampton, N.J.), who claimed 242nd for her 28:56 time. Finishing out the day for the team was graduate student Alena Masterson (Pelham, N.H.), who claimed 244th for her 29:21 time.

The Lewis Crossover was the final tune-up for the Ravens ahead of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, which are set for Sunday, Oct. 24, and will be hosted by Saint Anselm in Manchester, N.H.
