Lambert Earns All-Conference Nod, Women’s Cross Country Places 12th at NE-10 Championship

Ravens set to host NCAA East Regional in two weeks

COLCHESTER, Vt. (October 25, 2015) – Senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) of the Franklin Pierce University women's cross country team finished ninth on Sunday, earning All-Conference Second Team honors at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, hosted by Saint Michael's. She was the first Raven across the line for a team which finished 12th, out of 15 teams.

Lambert stopped the clock with a 6k time of 22:54.7, which was good for an average mile time of 6:08. It was over 60 spots back to the next Raven on Sunday morning, as sophomore Vanessa Monzon (Manchester, N.H.) placed 74th in the 149-runner field, with a time of 25:39.8. Monzon narrowly edged her own teammate at the line, as sophomore Natalie Davies (Ware, Mass.) ran a 25:39.9 to finish 75th. Only two seconds farther back was senior Doria Brown (Little Falls, N.J.) with a time of 25:41.7, to place 79th. Rounding out Franklin Pierce's scoring five was senior Shannon Lozier (Merrimac, Mass.) in 89th, with a time of 26:09.2.

It all meant 279 points for the Ravens, who finished 12th, but were just eight points away from a top-10 finish. Up front, Stonehill put three in the top five and all five scoring runners in the top 10 to collect just 23 points and blow out the competition. It was nearly 100 points back to second-place Bentley (116 points), who had just 10 points on third-place Assumption (126 points). American International (140 points) in fourth and Merrimack (143 points) in fifth rounded out the top five.

Individually, Stonehill juniors Nicole Borofski (21:48.8) and Aisha McAdams (22:32.0) went one-two at the top of the field. Southern New Hampshire junior Laura O'Hanlon (22:37.6), Bentley junior Julia Morena (22:43.5) and Stonehill freshman Mackenzie Cyr (22:44.1) rounded out the top five, in that order.

The Ravens return to action on Sunday, Nov. 8, when they host the NCAA Championship East Regional at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H.
