RINDGE, N.H. (July 27, 2016) – The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been named as a recipient of the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 2015-16 academic year, as announced earlier this week by the AVCA. It is the seventh straight year Franklin Pierce has earned the honor from the AVCA.

RINDGE, N.H. (June 9, 2016) – Junior middle Aiden Garcia (Eagle Pass, Texas) of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been named a 2016 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar, as announced in the April 21 issue of Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. Garcia earned a selection to the 28 student-athlete First Team for volleyball, and was one of just 82 volleyball players nationwide, across all three NCAA divisions, to be honored by the program.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (December 3, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University Ravens Volleyball team saw their season come to an end on Thursday afternoon, as their run in the NCAA East Regional was cut short by the Dowling College Lions by a score of 3-0, with each set finishing at 25-18 in favor of Dowling. The tournament was hosted by Adelphi University, the top seed of the regional.

RINDGE, N.H. (November 23, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University Ravens Volleyball team was given second life on their season Monday night, as the Ravens were named to the eight-team field for the 2015 NCAA Championship East Regional as the sixth-seeded team, as named by the NCAA. Franklin Pierce will play third-seeded Dowling in their first matchup as the tournament will run December 3-5 in Garden City, N.J. at Adelphi University.

RINDGE, N.H. (November 19, 2015) – Freshman Katie Leidhold (Acushnet, Mass.) broke through with the biggest award to come into Rindge this fall, as she was named Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year, along with All-Northeast-10 First team honors, and a unanimous selection to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie team. Joining her with first team honors was junior Aiden Garcia (Eagle Pass, Texas), while sophomore setter Hannah Runge (Deltona, Fla.) was named to the second team. Rounding out the slew of awards for the crimson and grey was freshman Abigail Sonuga (Haverhill, Mass.) who joined Leidhold as an All-Rookie team selection. All awards were announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon.

RINDGE, N.H. (November 17, 2015) – Freshman Abigail Sonuga (Haverhill, Mass.) hit a team-leading .333 and led the team with 14 kills on Tuesday evening, as the Franklin Pierce University Volleyball team played as the number two seed in the Northeast-10 Conference Quarterfinal matchup against the seventh-seeded University of New Haven Chargers. However, the results were not meant to be, as the Chargers capitalized on 45 total Franklin Pierce errors in their upset of the Ravens by a final of 3-1 at the Fieldhouse.

(November 14, 2015) – Freshman Abigail Sonuga (Haverhill, Mass.) showed off her court presence on Saturday afternoon, as she slammed home a team-leading 18 kills as the Franklin Pierce University Ravens Volleyball team defeated the Pace University Setters by a final score of 3-2 at the Goldstein Fitness Center.

(November 13, 2015) – Junior Aiden Garcia (Eagle Pass, Texas) dropped in a team-leading 12 kills on the night, but the Franklin Pierce University Ravens Volleyball team was unable to figure out the top team in the conference, as the Ravens lost in four sets to the Adelphi College Panthers 3-1.

(November 7, 2015) – Senior Sarah MacHugh (Red Hook, N.Y.) put herself into the single-game record books on Saturday afternoon, as she stepped up big in her final regular season home game with 40 digs. That number ties the second most digs in a single match in program history, falling one short of the single game record as the Franklin Pierce University Ravens defeated the Assumption College Greyhounds in comeback fashion, 3-2 at the Fieldhouse.

(November 6, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University Ravens Volleyball team played solid defense all night, collecting 14 total team blocks and receiving a solid game from senior Catherine Purdy (Ossining, N.Y.) who collected a game-high 19 digs, but those efforts would fall short as Katarina Krstonosic smashed a game-high 15 kills for the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights as they defeated the Ravens 3-1 at the Fieldhouse Friday evening.

OAKDALE, N.Y (October 30, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University Ravens Volleyball team hasn’t been accustom to losing as of late, as they have been on a five game winning streak and winners of nine of their last 10. Unfortunately for the Ravens, those statistics came to a screeching halt on Friday night, as they were defeated by the Dowling College Golden Lions in a non-conference matchup on the road in straight sets, 3-0, at Dowling Gymnasium.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 27, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University Ravens volleyball team kept the ball rolling on their season on Tuesday night, as they ended a four-game home stand with yet another win, 3-0, over the Saint Anselm College Hawks at the Fieldhouse. Sophomore Hannah St. Jean (Olympia, Wash.) was the standout performer for the Ravens, notching a team-high nine kills while hitting .600 for the match.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 24, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University Ravens volleyball team faced a tough challenge on Saturday afternoon, having to win to secure second in Northeast-10 Conference standings, or drop down to fourth in the league with a loss. After a tough first set loss, the Ravens were able to bounce back and win three straight sets thanks to 14 kills and 25 digs by freshman Katie Leidhold (Acushnet, Mass.) to take the 3-1 win over the LeMoyne College Dolphins at the Fieldhouse.
