Miller Miller becomes the second player in program history to earn All-East Region honors, as well as the first to land on the First Team.

RINDGE, N.H. (December 3, 2013) – Senior libero Lauren Miller (Alexandria, Ind.) of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been named to the Daktronics All-East Region First Team, as announced Tuesday by Daktronics. She becomes the first player in program history to land on the All-Region First Team.

Miller, who earned the first Northeast-10 Conference major award by taking Co-Libero of the Year honors in November, is now recognized as the East Region's premier libero by the region's sports information personnel, who handle voting duties on the Daktronics front. The American Volleyball Coaches Association will also release its own All-Region squads as the 2013 season winds to a close.

Miller becomes only the second All-Region selection in program history, joining Nicole Buchholz '09, who as selected to the All-Northeast Region Second Team by Daktronics as a junior in 2007.

For Miller, the accolade continues an award-filled senior campaign for the three-time captain, who has in many ways been the face of a culture change which has brought the program back to competitiveness at both the Conference and East Region levels. After finishing third in the Northeast-10 in digs per set as a sophomore and sixth as a junior, she has been even better as a senior, as she currently leads the Northeast-10 with 5.33 digs per set, a number which is also good for 25th in the nation (through Nov. 24). In addition, Miller is one of three Ravens in the top 10 in the Northeast-10 in service aces per set, as she currently ranks eighth (0.37). Only a three-year libero after spending her freshman campaign as an outside hitter, Miller will still leave the program second all-time in digs, as she currently has 1,763. Furthermore, she has served up more aces than any other player in program history, as she currently sits at 174 after breaking a record held by Mandy Johnson earlier this season. In addition to earning Co-Libero of the Year honors in November, Miller was also selected to the All-Northeast-10 First Team, her second career All-Conference selection.

The seventh-seeded Ravens (14-8, 9-5 Northeast-10) will open the NCAA Championship East Regional against second-seeded LIU Post in the quarterfinal round on Thursday afternoon. First serve is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium on the campus of the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Conn.
