Svorinic Svorinic has earned the first Northeast-10 Setter of the Week award of her career.

RINDGE, N.H. (November 19, 2013) – Senior libero Lauren Miller (Alexandria, Ind.) and senior setter Stephanie Svorinic (Scottsdale, Ariz.) of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team have been named Northeast-10 Conference Libero of the Week and Setter of the Week, respectively, for the week ending on Nov. 17, as announced Tuesday by the Conference office.

In a 2-0 week for Franklin Pierce, Miller averaged 6.62 digs per set (53 total digs) and chipped in two aces along the way. On Tuesday night against Southern New Hampshire, she led all players with 29 digs and also served up a pair of aces. On Friday night at Southern Connecticut State, she led all players again, this time with 24 digs.

For Miller, it marks the second straight week and the fourth time in her career she has been named Northeast-10 Libero of the Week. Last week's honor was her first selection since the week ending on Oct. 23, 2011, as she earned the accolade twice as a sophomore. Previously, Miller earned Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week honors twice as a freshman in 2010.

On the season, Miller currently ranks 23rd in the nation in digs per set (5.39). That number is also good for second in the Northeast-10, while she ranks sixth in the Conference in aces per set (0.37).

Meanwhile, Svorinic dished out 13.25 assists per set (106 total assists) to go with 2.50 digs per set (20 total digs) in last week's two matches. In all, she assisted on 87.6% of the team's kills on the week, as the Ravens put down 121 balls over two matches. In addition, she chipped in four kills, three aces (0.38 per set) and two block assists on the week.

It marks Svorinic's first career selection as Northeast-10 Setter of the Week. She becomes the second Franklin Pierce setter to collect the honor this season, as freshman Kelsey Hausman (Sandy, Utah) earned the accolade for the week ending on Sept. 15.

On the season, Svorinic's 10.41 assists per set would currently rank first in the Northeast-10 and 40th in the nation. However, due to an early-season injury, she has played in just 49 of Franklin Pierce's 83 sets on the season (59.0%). For the purposes of statistical rankings, the NCAA requires a student-athlete to play in two-thirds of the team's sets, while the Northeast-10 specifies 60%.

The fifth-seeded Ravens (14-7, 9-5 Northeast-10) return to the court on Tuesday night, when they travel to fourth-seeded Adelphi for the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Championship. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Center for Recreation and Sport in Garden City, N.Y.
