RINDGE, N.H. (August 5, 2014) – The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been named as a recipient of the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year, as announced Monday by the AVCA.

Over the final weeks of June, members of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team donned the red, white and blue, as they were given the opportunity to represent their school and country overseas, via American International Sports Teams. Sophomore Kelsey Hausman (Sandy, Utah), senior Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) and head coach Stephanie Dragan spent time traveling and playing volleyball on their way through Germany and the Czech Republic. (February 19, 2014) – Senior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been selected as the recipient of a Northeast-10 Conference Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award, as announced Wednesday by the Conference office. It is the second straight season Ray has taken home the award.

RINDGE, N.H. (January 31, 2014) – Six Franklin Pierce University student-athletes have been named to the fall 2013 Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference Team in their respective sports, as announced Friday by the Conference office. Volleyball led the way for the Ravens with three selections: senior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.), senior libero Lauren Miller (Alexandria, Ind.) and junior outside hitter Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.). Joining the trio was a pair of women’s soccer players in senior back Gabriela Vieira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and junior midfielder Caroline Savasta (Salem, Mass.), as well as men’s soccer graduate student midfielder Terence Ciavarra (Sutton, Mass.). The selected Ravens were among 91 student-athletes across seven sports honored by the Northeast-10.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (December 5, 2013) – Senior middle Katie Jackson (Centennial, Colo.) had five kills without an error to hit .312 and senior libero Lauren Miller (Alexandria, Ind.) averaged seven digs a set in the final collegiate match for each, but it would not be enough on Thursday afternoon, as the seventh-seeded Franklin Pierce University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to second-seeded LIU Post in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championship East Regional, hosted by Bridgeport at Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium. The LIU Post defense piled up 78 digs (26 per set) and seven blocks to hold Franklin Pierce to an .068 hitting percentage in the match.

(December 3, 2013) – Senior libero Lauren Miller (Alexandria, Ind.) of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been named to the Daktronics All-East Region First Team, as announced Tuesday by Daktronics. She becomes the first player in program history to land on the All-Region First Team.

RINDGE, N.H. (November 25, 2012) – The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been named as the seventh seed of the NCAA Championship East Regional, as announced Monday night by the NCAA. It marks the second straight NCAA Championship selection for the team, as well as the second in program history. The Ravens, a Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinalist, earn an at-large bid in the eight-team tournament, which will run Thursday, Dec. 5 through Saturday, Dec. 7 and be hosted by top seed Bridgeport at Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium in Bridgeport, Conn. Franklin Pierce will open play at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday against second-seeded LIU Post.

(November 21, 2013) – Senior libero Lauren Miller (Alexandria, Ind.) of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Co-Libero of the Year, as announced Thursday by the Conference office. She becomes the first player in program history to earn a major Conference award and headlines two Franklin Pierce All-Conference selections, while the Ravens had a total of three players honored by the Conference.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (November 19, 2013) – A 12-ace service attack would not be enough to offset a .125 hitting percentage on Tuesday night, as the fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce University volleyball team was defeated, 3-1, by fourth-seeded Adelphi in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Championship at Center for Recreation and Sport. Kaitlyn DeStefano put down a match-best 21 kills and hit a robust .485 on the night to lead Adelphi, while junior outside hitter Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) chalked up 13 kills in defeat for Franklin Pierce.

(November 15, 2013) – Senior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) racked up 14 kills and 21 digs while hitting .268 over 41 attempts on Friday night, and sophomore outside hitter Sydni Schulz (Cypress, Texas) added16 kills on a .238 hitting percentage over 42 attempts as the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team notched a 3-1 win over Southern Connecticut State in Northeast-10 Conference play at Pelz Gymnasium. Freshman outside hitter Nicole Hauser hit a match-best .385 with 11 kills and 13 digs to lead SCSU in the loss.

RINDGE, N.H. (November 12, 2013) – Sophomore outside hitter Sydni Schulz (Cypress, Texas) hammered out a career-best 21 kills and hit .292 on Tuesday night, and junior outside hitter Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) added 14 kills and hit a match-best .371 as the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team picked up a 3-1 win over Southern New Hampshire in Northeast-10 Conference play in the Fieldhouse. With the victory, Franklin Pierce clinched its second consecutive berth in the Northeast-10 Championship.
