RINDGE, N.H. (July 1, 2013) – The Northeast-10 Conference announced on Monday that the Franklin Pierce University volleyball and women’s indoor & outdoor track & field teams were named the Team Academic Excellence Award winners for their respective sport for the 2012-13 school year.

GROS ISLET, Saint Lucia (April 25, 2013) – Assistant Coach Amobi Armstrong of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has returned to his native Saint Lucia this month, in preparation to play at the national level this week in the second round of NORCECA qualifying for the 2014 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship. Saint Lucia will host Haiti, El Salvador and Saint Kitts and Nevis on April 27-28 at Beausejour Indoor Stadium in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia.

NORWOOD, Mass. (April 23, 2013) – The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team was in non-traditional-season action over the weekend, as it traveled to MGA Sports Center to play in a collegiate tournament put on by the New England Region Volleyball Association. At the event, Franklin Pierce won its pool before defeating Saint Anselm and Bentley to claim the title.

(March 14, 2013) – Three Franklin Pierce University student-athletes have been named to the fall 2012 Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference Team in their respective sports, as announced recently by the Conference office. Men’s soccer graduate student back Tom Leaver (Warwickshire, United Kingdom), women’s soccer graduate student midfielder Aya Noguchi (Tokyo, Japan) and volleyball junior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) were among 87 athletes across seven sports honored by the Northeast-10.

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (November 29, 2012) – Four players recorded eight or more kills on Thursday night, led by 10 from junior middle Katie Jackson (Centennial, Colo.), but the fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce University volleyball team was defeated, 3-1, by fourth-seeded New York Tech in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championship East Regional, hosted by New Haven at Charger Gymnasium. Junior outside hitters Shelby Cable and Savannah Donarksi had 18 and 16 kills, respectively, to pace NYIT.

RINDGE, N.H. (November 18, 2012) – The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been named as the fifth seed of the NCAA Championship East Regional, as announced Sunday night by the NCAA. It marks the first NCAA Championship selection in program history. The Ravens, a Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinalist, earn an at-large bid in the eight-team tournament, which will run Thursday, Nov. 29 through Saturday, Dec. 1 and be hosted by top seed New Haven at Charger Gymnasium in West Haven, Conn. Franklin Pierce will open play on Thursday against fourth-seeded New York Tech.

(November 15, 2012) – Head Coach Stephanie Dragan of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year, as announced Thursday by the Conference office. In addition, three players received accolades from the Conference: junior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was selected to the All-Northeast-10 First Team, junior libero Lauren Miller (Alexandria, Ind.) was selected to the All-Northeast-10 Second Team and freshman middle Lina Kleinschmidt (Santa Barbara, Calif.) was selected to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team.

(November 13, 2012) – Freshman outside hitter Sydni Schulz (Cypress, Texas) hammered out 13 kills with just two errors over 30 attempts to hit a team-best .367 on Tuesday night, but the third-seeded Franklin Pierce University volleyball team was defeated, 3-2, by sixth-seeded Pace in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship at the Fieldhouse. Senior outside hitter Nora Rugova put away 21 kills, while freshman outside hitter Megan Kurz hit .385 with 13 kills in the win for Pace.

(November 10, 2012) – Junior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and sophomore outside hitter Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) hammered out 19 kills each as both hit over .300 on Saturday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team to a come-from-behind, 3-2 victory over Assumption in Northeast-10 Conference play and the regular-season finale at Laska Gymnasium. Junior outside hitter Lauren Ostafin led Assumption with 12 kills.

(November 6, 2012) – Freshman middle Lina Kleinschmidt (Santa Barbara, Calif.) tied for the match lead with nine kills as well as a .333 attack percentage while factoring in on five blocks on Tuesday night to lead the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team to a 3-0 win over American International in Northeast-10 Conference play at the Fieldhouse. The win clinched home-court advantage for Franklin Pierce in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Championship, scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 13.

(November 3, 2012) – Freshman middle Lina Kleinschmidt (Santa Barbara, Calif.) tied for the match lead with 12 kills, hit a match-best .478 and put back five blocks (two solo) on Saturday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Pace in Northeast-10 Conference play at the Fieldhouse. Franklin Pierce hit .218 on the afternoon, while holding Pace to just .057 over 158 attempts, thanks to nine blocks and 80 digs.

Jackson led three Franklin Pierce hitters in double digits on the evening, as junior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added 12 kills and sophomore outside hitter Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) contributed 11.
