Duo totaled 6.62 kills, 6.00 digs per set last week

Ray Ray earned her fourth Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll selection of the season.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 19, 2011) – Sophomore right side Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and freshman outside hitter Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team have both been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Oct. 16, as announced Tuesday by the Conference office.

In two matches last week, Ray averaged 2.88 kills and 4.38 digs per set, while chipping in four block assists, as the Ravens went 1-1. In a 3-1 win over Merrimack on Tuesday, she finished with 13 kills, 21 digs, two aces and a block assist. On Thursday at Southern Connecticut State, Ray tallied 10 kills, 14 digs and three block assists.

It is the fourth Weekly Honor Roll selection of the season for Ray, who was previously honored for the weeks ending on Sept. 4, 11 and 25.

Swiderski averaged 3.75 kills and 1.62 digs per set in the two matches for Franklin Pierce, while adding five blocks (one solo) along the way. She hammered out 19 kills to go with eight digs, three blocks (one solo) and two assists in the win over Merrimack.

It is the first Weekly Honor Roll selection for Swiderski in her career.

The Ravens return to the court on Saturday, Oct. 22, when they return home to host Saint Rose in a Northeast-10 Conference match. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. in the Fieldhouse.
