Rocky Point, N.Y. native will join Ravens in fall

Catie Swiderski Catie Swiderski has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join Ravens volleyball for the 2011 campaign.

RINDGE, N.H. (December 10, 2010) – Franklin Pierce University head volleyball coach Stephanie Dragan has announced the first piece of her upcoming recruiting class. Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Ravens for the 2011 campaign.

"Catie adds much-needed attacking experience to our roster," Dragan said. "She is an offensive threat in both the front and back row and will also score for us with her strong jump serve. Catie works hard on the court and in the classroom, and I am excited to add her to the Ravens family."

Checking in at 5-foot-11, Swiderski will come to Rindge following a decorated four-year career at Rocky Point High School. With 2010 awards still pending, she is already a three-time All-League selection and was named to the All-Long Island team by Newsday as a junior in 2009. Swiderski was named MVP of her team as both a sophomore and a junior and has played at the club level for Long Island United for five years, including an appearance in the Junior Olympics in 2007.

A force in the classroom as well, Swiderski is a member of the National Honor Society and has been an honor roll student each year at Rocky Point. She is currently ranked seventh out of 232 peers in her graduating class.
