RINDGE, N.H. (November 2,
2009) – Junior libero Chelsie Kohout
(Harrison Township, Mich.) of the Franklin Pierce
University volleyball team has been named to the Northeast-10
Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Nov. 1, as
announced Monday afternoon by the conference office.
Kohout tallied 67 digs (5.15 per set) over three matches last week.
She recorded just nine digs on Tuesday against Bentley before a
pair of strong performances over the weekend. On Saturday, Kohout
racked up 26 digs against Saint Rose, then followed that with a
32-dig effort on Sunday afternoon against Le Moyne. The 32 digs was
the fifth-highest match total in Franklin Pierce history and marked
the fourth time Kohout has topped 30 digs in a match. All three
other occasions came in her freshman campaign of 2007.
On the season, Kohout has collected 350 digs (3.65 per set) while
playing in all seven matches for the Ravens. In addition, she is
receiving serve at a .927 clip, with 44 errors over 603 services
against.
The Ravens (7-20, 3-10 Northeast-10) return to the court on
Tuesday, Nov. 3, when they wrap up the home portion of their
schedule by hosting Post in a non-conference contest. Match time is
scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Fieldhouse in Rindge and Franklin
Pierce will honor its senior class before the start of the match.
