Chelsie Kohout Chelsie Kohout has been named Northeast-10 Conference Libero of the Week.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 27, 2008) – Sophomore Chelsie Kohout (Harrison Township, Mich./L’Anse Creuse) of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Libero of the Week for the week ending on Oct. 26, as announced Monday by the conference office. In addition, senior Karissa Hookstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Adolfo Camarillo) has been named to the conference’s Weekly Honor Roll. The duo helped lead the Ravens to a 2-1 record last week.

Kohout averaged five digs per set over three matches last week. In Tuesday’s win over Saint Michael’s, she collected 13 digs, her lowest total of the week. In Friday night’s five-set loss at Bridgeport, she recorded a season-high 29 digs. Finally, in Saturday’s win at C.W. Post, she contributed 18 digs. Kohout’s honor was the second major weekly conference award earned by Franklin Pierce this season. Hookstadt previously garnered Northeast-10 Conference Setter of the Week accolades on Sept. 22.

Hookstadt averaged 10.58 assists and 2.42 digs per set over the week’s three matches. She opened the week with a 42-assist, eight-kill, five-dig performance on Tuesday against Saint Michael’s. Hookstadt then registered a double-double with 52 assists and 15 digs at Bridgeport on Friday before narrowly missing a second double-double with 33 assists and nine digs at C.W. Post on Saturday.

The Ravens (15-15, 7-4 NE-10) return to the court on Saturday, Nov. 1 for their final home matches of the season, when they host Northeast-10 opponent New Haven and non-conference foe NYIT. Match times are scheduled for 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively, at the Fieldhouse in Rindge.
