Franklin Pierce Sweeps Stonehill, 3-0
Parnell posts ten kills to lead the Raven attack
Caitlynn Parnell recorded 10 kills, five digs and five blocks on
Wednesday night at Stonehill.

EASTON, Mass. (September 6, 2006)
– The Franklin Pierce women’s volleyball team swept
Stonehill College, 3-0 (30-19, 30-21, 30-28), in Northeast-10
Conference action this evening at Merkert Gymnasium. The Ravens
totaled 35 kills and 39 digs to earn their first conference victory
of the season.
Freshman Caitlynn Parnell
(Medina, Texas/Medina) led the Raven attack posting ten
kills, five digs and five blocks in the match. Sophomore Nicole Buchholz (Ashburn, Va./Stone
Bridge) was also solid, tallying six kills, four blocks and
four service aces, while freshman Megan Feldmeth (South Pasadena, Calif./South
Pasadena) hit 6-for-17 (.417 pct.) and added four
blocks.
Sophomore setter Karissa
Hookstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo) paced the Raven
offense, dishing 27 assists, while senior co-captain Michelle McConnell (Elora, Ontario/Centre
Wellington) spearheaded the defense with 13 digs.
Stonehill received
solid production from sophomore Heidi Woerner (North Kingstown,
R.I.), who totaled 10 kills in the setback. Skyhawk junior Rebekah
Saunders (Gilford, N.H.) added eight kills and 14 digs in the
contest, while freshman Kristen Hordern (Swansea, Mass.) collected
six kills and 21 assists.
Franklin Pierce (3-1, 1-0 NE-10) will be in action again on
Tuesday as it travels to Bentley College at 7 p.m. Stonehill
College (0-4, 0-1 NE-10) will also be in action on Tuesday as it
travels to Merrimack College for a match at 7 p.m.
