Franklin Pierce Breezes Past American International, 3-1
Parnell and Buchholz lead Ravens with double-digit kills in victory

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 31, 2006)
– The Franklin Pierce women’s volleyball team earned a
3-1 victory (30-19, 27-30, 30-11, 30-17) over American
International College in Northeast-10 Conference action this
evening at Butova Gym.
Freshman Caitlynn Parnell
(Medina, Texas/Medina) led the Franklin Pierce offense,
posting a team-high 14 kills to go with six digs and three blocks.
Sophomore Nicole Buchholz
(Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) registered a match-high .476
hitting percentage with 11 kills and six blocks, while freshman
Katie Ristow (Miami, Fla./Miami
Killian SHS) notched nine kills,12 digs, and six service
aces in the victory.
Freshman Megan Feldmeth (South
Pasadena, Calif./South Pasadena) was also solid in the
victory, totaling six kills (.455 hitting percentage) and four
service aces. Sophomore setter Karissa Hookstadt (Camarillo,
Calif./Camarillo) paced the Ravens offense with 39 assists,
while senior captain Michelle
McConnell (Elora, Ontario/Centre Wellington) led the Ravens
defensively, recording a team-high 16 digs.
Franklin Pierce (18-9, 9-5 NE-10) will travel to Bryant University
on Friday to participated in the 2006 Northeast-10 Conference
Tournament. American International concludes its season with an
overall record of 4-14 and a 2-12 mark in the NE-10.
