Bryant Rolls Past Franklin Pierce, 3-1
Parnell posts team-high 15 kills in Raven loss

RINDGE, N.H. (October 25, 2006) –
The Franklin Pierce women’s volleyball team suffered a tough,
3-1 loss (22-30, 23-30, 30-22, 26-30) to conference foe Bryant
University in Northeast-10 Conference action this evening at the
Franklin Pierce Fieldhouse.
Bryant University senior Jessica Cegarra (Danville,
N.H./Timberlane) led all hitters, posting a match-high 16 kills.
Freshman Julie Geonnotti (St. Louis Park, Minn./Benilde-St.
Margaret’s) registered 12 kills and 14 digs to aid the
Bulldogs attack, while senior Beth Schlatterer (Arlington Heights,
Ill./John Hersey) chipped in with 11 kills. Junior setter Tiffany
Garry (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln Way East) paced the Bulldogs with a
match-high 48 assists and four service aces.
Freshman Caitlynn Parnell
(Medina, Texas/Medina) led the Franklin Pierce attack,
posting a team-high 15 kills to go with ten digs and two blocks.
Classmate Katie Ristow (Miami,
Fla./Miami Killian SHS) added ten kills, eight digs and five
blocks despite the loss, while sophomore Nicole Buchholz (Ashburn, Va./Stone
Bridge) collected ten kills and a team-high ten blocks.
Sophomore setter Karissa
Hookstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo) dished out 37
assists in the Raven loss, while senior captain Michelle McConnell (Elora, Ontario/Centre
Wellington) chipped in defensively with a team-high 12
digs.
Franklin Pierce (16-9, 8-5 NE-10) will be in action again on
Friday as it travels to Merrimack College at 7 p.m. Bryant
University (17-17, 9-2 NE-10) will host Southern Connecticut State
on Friday at 7 p.m.
