Feldmeth leads Ravens with ten kills in loss

Emily Schultz tallied 10 digs and nine kills at Le Moyne on Sunday.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (October 8, 2006) – The Franklin Pierce women’s volleyball team suffered a tough, 3-1 setback (16-30, 29-31, 30-27, 22-30) to Le Moyne College in Northeast-10 Conference action this afternoon at Grant Court.

Senior Karla Hardy (Tully, N.Y./Tully) and freshman Elizabeth Cheek (Huntington Beach, Calif./Rosary) led the Le Moyne attack, as each registered double digits in kills and digs. Hardy posted13 kills and collected ten digs, while Cheek recorded 12 kills and 12 digs. Senior setter Julie McLaud (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) paced the Dolphins attack, handing out 51 assists and posting a team-high 20 digs.

Freshman Megan Feldmeth (South Pasadena, Calif./South Pasadena) led all Franklin Pierce hitters, posting a team-high ten kills to go with two blocks and four digs. Sophomore Emily Schultz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) tallied nine kills and ten digs in the match up, while freshmen Caitlynn Parnell (Medina, Texas/Medina) and Katie Ristow (Miami, Fla./Miami Killian SHS) each added eight kills apiece.

Sophomore captain Karissa Hookstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo) dished 37 assists and added 11 digs to pace Franklin Pierce, while senior captain Michelle McConnell (Elora, Ontario/Centre Wellington) led the Raven defense with a match-high 23 digs.

Franklin Pierce (11-6, 5-4 NE-10) will be in action again on Tuesday as it hosts Merrimack College at 7 p.m. Le Moyne College (14-8, 5-3 NE-10) will travel to Stonehill College on Saturday for a tri-match starting at 11:30 a.m.
