Ristow and Feldmeth lead Ravens to victory

BRIDGEPORT, CONN. (October 1, 2006)
– The Franklin Pierce women’s volleyball team posted a
3-0 victory over the University of Bridgeport (30-26, 30-24, 30-20)
in non-conference action this afternoon at the Harvey Hubble
Gymnasium. The Ravens posted 37 kills and 48 digs in the three game
match to earn their ninth victory of the season.
Freshmen Katie Ristow (Miami,
Fla./Miami Killian SHS) led all Franklin Pierce hitters with
a team-high nine kills to go with eight digs and four service aces.
Classmate Megan Feldmeth (South
Pasadena, Calif./South Pasadena) increased her team-leading
hitting percentage, registering eight kills in 16 attempts (.438
pct.) while also adding four blocks.
Sophomore Nicole Buchholz
(Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) and freshman Caitlynn Parnell (Medina, Texas/Medina)
each contributed seven kills apiece in the victory and sophomore
captain Karissa Hookstadt
(Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo) chipped in with 25 assists and
a team-high 16 digs.
Franklin Pierce (9-4, 4-2 NE-10) will be in action again on
Tuesday as it travels to UMass Lowell for a match starting at 7
p.m. The University of Bridgeport (10-12, 0-2 ECC) will travel to
L.I.U.-C.W. Post on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
