Franklin Pierce Fights Past Assumption, 3-0
Parnell and Feldmeth lead Ravens with double-digit kills
Caitlynn Parnell chalked up 16 kills on Tuesday night against
Assumption.

RINDGE, N.H.. (September 26, 2006)
– The Franklin Pierce women’s volleyball team battled
to a 3-0 victory over Assumption College (30-21, 31-29, 30-27) in
Northeast-10 Conference action this evening at the Franklin Pierce
Fieldhouse. The Ravens posted 51 kills and 12 service aces in the
three game match to earn their seventh victory of the season.
Freshmen Caitlynn Parnell
(Medina, Texas/Medina) and Megan Feldmeth (South Pasadena, Calif./South
Pasadena) led the Franklin Pierce attack with a combined 29
kills in the match. Parnell registered a season best 16 kills,
hitting a team-best .364 pct to go along with 12 digs, while
Feldmeth posted 13 kills.
Sophomore setter Karissa
Hookstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo) paced the Raven
offense, dishing a game-high, 42 assists and classmate Emily Schultz (Salem, Wis./Westosha
Central) recorded a game-high 18 digs, eight kills, and six
service aces..
Assumption senior Kristen McCafferty (Tyngsboro, Mass./Notre Dame)
and freshman Jessica Haller (Meriden, Conn./Maloney) led the
Greyhound attack with six kills apiece. Junior Lauren Raswyck
(Litchfield, N.H./Campbell) registered a match-high 23 digs, while
freshman setter Sarah Sullivan (Bourne, Mass./Bourne) totaled 17
assists and 12 digs.
Franklin Pierce (7-3, 4-1 NE-10) will be in action again on
Saturday as it travels to Pace University for a tri-match starting
at 12 p.m. Assumption College (10-5, 2-4 NE-10) will host Le Moyne
College on Saturday at 11 a.m.
