Schultz and Ristow post ten kills in sweep of Penmen
Katie Ristow notched 10 kills on Wednesday night against Southern
New Hampshire.

RINDGE, N.H. (September 20, 2006)
– The Franklin Pierce volleyball team posted a 3-0 sweep over
Southern New Hampshire University (30-20, 30-23, 30-26) in a
Northeast-10 Conference volleyball match at the Franklin Pierce
Fieldhouse this evening.
Sophomore Emily Schultz (Salem,
Wis./Westosha Central) and freshman Katie Ristow (Miami, Fla./Miami Killian
HS) led a balanced Franklin Pierce effort as the duo
recorded ten kills apiece. Freshman Caitlynn Parnell (Medina, Texas/Medina)
posted nine kills in 17 attempts (.412 pct.), while classmate Megan Feldmeth (South Pasadena,
Calif./South Pasadena) led the Raven hit brigade with eight
kills on 16 attempts (.438 pct.).
Sophomore captain Karissa
Hookstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo) dished a game-high
38 assists to go with four digs and four blocks. Schultz and senior
captain Michelle McConnell (Elora,
Ontario/Centre Wellington) led the Ravens defense with 36
digs combined. Schultz collected a season-high 22 digs, while
McConnell added 14 digs on the match.
Sophomore Jamie Rood (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) and junior
Brooke Lefort (Cumberland, R.I./Cumberland) led Southern New
Hampshire with five kills apiece, while freshman Allison Murphy
(Montague, Mass./Turner Falls) posted nine assists to pace the
offense. Sophomore Brianna Doucet (Danville, N.H./Timberlane)
posted 24 digs despite the loss.
Franklin Pierce (5-2, 2-1 NE-10) will be in action again on
Saturday as it hosts Saint Anselm College and the University of New
Haven in a tri-match starting at 11 a.m. Southern New Hampshire
(5-5, 1-2 NE-10) will be in action tomorrow as it travels to Rivier
College at 7 p.m.
