Franklin Pierce Rallies Past Mercy, 3-1
Parnell, Feldmeth and Schultz lead Raven hitters to victory in home opener
Caitlynn Parnell collected a season-high 15 kills to go with 12
digs to notch a double-double on Thursday night against Mercy.

RINDGE, N.H. (September 14, 2006)
– Franklin Pierce dropped game one, but swept the next three
to defeat Mercy College, 3-1 (27-30, 30-17, 30-22, 30-21), in a
non-conference volleyball match at the Fieldhouse tonight.
Freshman Caitlynn Parnell
(Medina, Texas/Medina) led a balanced Franklin Pierce effort
as she recorded a match and season-high 15 kills to go with 12 digs
and five service aces. Classmate Megan Feldmeth (South Pasadena, Calif./South
Pasadena) added 11 kills (.400 hitting percentage), a
season-high six aces and four blocks, while sophomore Emily Schultz (Salem, Wis./Westosha
Central) registered a season-best 14 kills, nine digs and
six assists.
Sophomore Nicole Buchholz
(Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) contributed 12 kills and a
season-best seven blocks, while classmate Karissa Hookstadt (Camarillo,
Calif./Camarillo) dished a season-high 50 assists to go with
12 digs and four blocks. Senior Michelle McConnell (Elora, Ontario/Centre
Wellington) chipped in with a match-high 24 digs.
Senior Mariola St. Fleur (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) led Mercy with 11
kills and 16 digs, while freshman Diana Bruzzone (Guayaquil,
Ecuador) registered nine kills and 25 digs. Senior Michelle Adams
(Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Arlington) notched seven kills and 15 digs,
while senior Melissa Baccari (Rego Park, N.Y./Good Counsel Academy)
dished 19 assists.
Franklin Pierce (4-2, 1-1 NE-10) is back in action next Wednesday
when it hosts Southern New Hampshire University for a Northeast-10
Conference battle at 7 p.m. Mercy (1-4, 0-0 ECC) visits Bentley
College tomorrow at 6 p.m.
