Two Ravens Earn Northeast-10 All Conference Honors in Volleyball
Vece and Buchholz named to the Northeast-10 All Conference Third Team

RINDGE, N.H. (November 12,
2005) – Two members of the Franklin Pierce volleyball
team collected All-Conference Honors this week. Senior captain
Tara Vece (Clinton, Conn./The
Morgan School) and freshman Nicole Buchholz (Ashburn, Va./Stone
Bridge) were named to the Northeast-10 All Conference Third
Team.
Vece, a four year starter, started all 96 games for the Ravens
this year. She has led the Ravens this year defensively, averaging
5.50 digs per game, while offensively collecting 24 service
aces.
Over her career, Vece has totaled 1696 digs, averaging 4.80 digs
per game. The senior Libero has played in 353 total games for
Franklin Pierce and was named Libero of the Week this season for
the first time in her career.
Buchholz has also had a very impressive rookie season for Franklin
Pierce. The freshman middle-hitter has averaged 3.33 kills per game
(10th NE-10), while hitting a team best .256 pct. Buchholz is also
averaging a team-best, 1.07 blocks per game (10th NE-10)
Franklin Pierce (14-13, 9-5 NE-10 NE-10) made it to the Semifinals
of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament. The Ravens dropped a 3-0
decision to top-seeded Bentley College. Franklin Pierce now awaits
an Eastern College Athletic Conference Tournament bid on Monday
afternoon.
