SMITHFIELD, R.I. (Oct. 25, 2005)
– The Franklin Pierce volleyball team suffered a tough loss
to Bryant University, 3-0 (30-18, 30-28, 30-22) in Northeast-10
Conference action this evening at the Chace Athletic Center.
Bryant University senior Lindsay Klix (Rochester Hills, Mich.)
matched a season-high with 13 kills on 20 swings and added two
blocks while junior Beth Schlatterer (Arlington Heights, Ill.)
added 11 kills and two blocks for the Bulldogs.
Franklin Pierce was led by freshman Nicole Buchholz (Ashburn, Va./Stone
Ridge) who contributed a team high 12 kills in the match.
Freshman Karissa Hookstadt
(Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo) was also solid, recording 30
assists, eight digs, and four kills. Hookstadt also had three
service aces in the match.
Franklin Pierce (11-12, 8-5 NE-10) returns to action next Tuesday
as it hosts American International College for a match starting at
7 p.m. Bryant University (20-8, 10-1 NE-10) will host the
University of New Haven tomorrow for match starting at 7 p.m.
