Franklin Pierce rolls past Merrimack, 3-0

Christina Collett posted a team-high 13 kills on Tuesday night at
Merrimack.

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (Oct. 11, 2005)
– The Franklin Pierce volleyball team rolled past Merrimack
College, sweeping all three games, 3-0 (30-27, 30-28, 30-28) in
Northeast-10 volleyball action this evening at Volpe Athletic
Center.
Franklin Pierce junior outside-hitter Christina Collett (Tombstone,
Ariz./Tombstone) led the Ravens with 13 kills and two blocks
while senior Jessica Ward
(Clinton, Conn./The Morgan School) finished with 12 kills
and eight digs. Freshman Karissa
Hookdstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo) was also solid for
the Ravens, totaling 34 assists, seven kills, six blocks and two
serving aces.
Merrimack College was led by senior Lindsay Larson (Mission Viejo,
Calif.) with 18 kills and 13 digs while freshman Alison Martin
(Evergreen, Colo.) notched nine kills and six total blocks (two
solo). Senior Kendall Rizzo (Chelmsford, Mass.) posted 36 assists
and nine digs for Merrimack.
Franklin Pierce (8-10, 6-3 NE-10) returns to action Friday when it
travels to Southern Connecticut State University for a match
starting at 7 p.m. Merrimack (7-13, 5-4 NE-10) will travel to Saint
Michael’s College on Sunday for a match starting at 1 p.m.
