Franklin Pierce Upended by Saint Rose, 3-1

RINDGE, N.H. (Oct. 8,
2005) – The Franklin Pierce volleyball team suffered a
tough loss to Northeast-10 Conference leader The College of Saint
Rose, 3-1 (25-30, 21-30, 30-27, 21-30) this afternoon at the
Northfield’s Activity Center.
Saint Rose junior Stephanie Brink (Port Ewen, NY/Kingston) led the
Golden Knights with 15 kills in the match. Junior Shannon Campbell
(Charlton, NY./Burnt Hill Ballston Lake) was also solid
contributing a game high 58 assists and six kills.
Franklin Pierce freshman Nicole
Buchholz (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) led the Ravens attack,
tallying 20 kills and two blocks. Senior Jessica Ward (Clinton, Conn./The Morgan
School) chipped in with 14 kills and 14 digs.
Franklin Pierce setter Karissa
Hookdstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo) totaled 53 assists,
while also chipping in with six digs, four kills and two blocks.
Senior captain Tara Vece (Clinton,
Conn./The Morgan School) was solid defensively for the
Ravens, collecting 30 digs in the contest.
Franklin Pierce (6-10, 4-3 NE-10) returns to action tomorrow when
it hosts Le Moyne College for a match starting at 2 p.m. Saint Rose
(16-3, 8-0 NE-10) returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Union
College at 6 p.m.
