Pace holds off Franklin Pierce, 3-2
Ward leads Ravens in five game loss
Jessica Ward posted a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs on
Saturday against Pace.

RINDGE, N.H. (Oct. 1, 2005) – The
Franklin Pierce volleyball team suffered a tough five game loss,
3-2 to Pace University (24-30, 30-32, 30-17, 30-22, 9-15) in
Northeast-10 Conference volleyball action this afternoon at the
Franklin Pierce Fieldhouse.
Freshman Danielle Furka (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) led Pace
with 18 kills, 23 digs and three blocks. Graduate Kate Tucker
(Bloomingburg, N.Y./Pine Bush) contributed with 13 kills and 10
blocks in the match. Freshman Ashley D’Agostini (San Diego,
Calif./Torrey Pines) was also solid for the Setters, totaling 53
assists and 29 digs.
Franklin Pierce senior Jessica
Ward (Clinton, Conn./The Morgan School) led the Ravens with
13 kills, 14 digs, three aces and one block, while junior captain
Michelle McConnell (Elora,
Ontario/Centre Washington) chipped in with 19 kills, four
aces and 10 digs in the match. Freshman setter Karissa Hookdstadt (Camarillo,
Calif./Camarillo) compiled a season-high 56 assists, as well
as 18 digs, and four kills.
Franklin Pierce (5-7, 4-2 NE-10) returns to action tomorrow when
it travels to Southern New Hampshire University for a Tri-Match
with Southern N.H. and Bridgeport University. Pace University
(5-11, 2-5 NE-10) is back in action on Tuesday when it host
Southern Connecticut State University at 7 p.m.
