Franklin Pierce Sweeps Assumption, 3-0
Ravens with fourth straight
Karissa Hookstadt dished out 24 assists on Tuesday night at
Assumption.

WORCESTER, Mass. (Sept. 27, 2005)
– The Franklin Pierce volleyball team won its fourth straight
game as it defeated Assumption College, 3-0 (30-25, 31-29, 30-20)
in Northeast-10 Conference action this evening at Assumption
College.
Franklin Pierce freshman Nicole
Buchholz (Ashburn, Va/Stone Bridge) led the Raven’s
attack, registering 14 kills and six blocks. Classmate Karissa Hookstadt (Camarillo,
Calif./Camarillo) played solid for the Ravens contributing
with 24 assists, two digs, two blocks and two kills in the
match.
Captains Michelle McConnell
(Elora, Ontario/Centre Wellington) and Tara Vece (Clinton, Conn./The Morgan
School) were also solid for Franklin Pierce. McConnell
posted 12 digs, 11 kills, and one service ace while Vece chipped in
with 20 digs and two aces.
Franklin Pierce (5-5, 4-1 NE-10) returns to action Thursday when
it travels to UMass Lowell for a match starting at 7 p.m.
Assumption College (4-8, 1-4 NE-10) will travel to Saint Rose
College on Friday for a match at 7 p.m.
