Bentley runs past Franklin Pierce, 3-0

RINDGE, N.H. (Sept. 13, 2005) –
The Franklin Pierce volleyball team suffered a tough loss, 3-0
(28-30, 16-30, 20-30) to Bentley College in Northeast-10 Conference
volleyball action this evening.
Senior captain Amber Gracey (Saline, Mich. /Saline) led Bentley
registering 15 digs, 10 kills, and four service aces. Classmate
Katie Markstein (La Jolla, Calif. /The Bishop’s School)
contributed with 17 digs and three service aces. Freshman Becca
Rector (Greenwood Village, Col. /Arapahoe) was solid for the
Falcons collecting 14 digs and five kills.
Franklin Pierce freshman Nicole
Buchholz (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) led the Ravens with 12
kills and two blocks, while classmate Karissa Hookstadt (Camarillo,
Calif./Camarillo) contributed with 31 assists, 11 digs,
three blocks and two aces. Senior captain Tara Vece (Clinton, Conn. /The Morgan
School) chipped in with 23 digs.
Franklin Pierce (1-5, 1-1 NE-10) returns to action Monday when it
hosts Rivier College at 6 p.m. Bentley College (7-1, 2-0 NE-10)
will be in action on Saturday vs. Rollins College when it hosts the
Bentley Invitational Tournament at 1:30 p.m.
