Franklin Pierce Falls Short against Saint Michaels, 3-2

COLCHESTER, Vt. (Nov. 8, 2003) – The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team fell 3-2 to Saint Michael’s College in a Northeast-10 Conference match to close out the 2003 season.

The Purple Knights opened the match by taking the first game 31-29 but Franklin Pierce rebounded with a 30-21 win in game two, and a 30-22 in game three.

Freshman Ashley Milan (Bellingham, Mass./Bellingham), led the Ravens on a 9-0 run in the second set and the team took the third by jumping out in front early with a 6-0 stretch.

The Purple Knights then rebounded with two straight victories to secure the advantage in the match.

Freshman Christina Collett (Tombstone, Ariz./Tombstone) tallied a team-best 32 kills for Franklin Pierce, while senior setter Bethany Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) registered 64 assists.

Franklin Pierce closes out the 2003 season at 11-15, 4-10 in the Conference and Saint Michael's ends its season at 12-14 overall, 4-10 in the Northeast-10.
