Concordia Battles Past Franklin Pierce, 3-1

RINDGE, N.H. (Oct. 25, 2003) – The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss to Concordia College at the Franklin Pierce Fieldhouse in non-conference volleyball action this afternoon.

Darci Woodring (Boulder City, Nev.) had a team best 23 kills and 17 digs in the win for the Clippers. Jamie Cahoon (East Amherst, N.Y.) registered 18 kills and 16 digs while setter Elise Maier (Brighton, Colo.) helped out with 56 assists and seven blocks.

Freshman Christina Collett (Tombstone, Ariz./Whetstone) led the Ravens’ offense with 22 kills and also contributed 10 digs, while classmate Erin Moseley (Billerica, Mass.Billerica) followed with 15 kills, two service aces and three digs. Senior setter Bethany Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) totaled 45 assists with seven digs and sophomore Tara Vece (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) led the defense with 17 digs despite the loss.

Franklin Pierce (11-13, 4-8 NE-10) returns to action on Tuesday, when it travels to UMass Lowell for a Conference match at 7:00 p.m.
