Pace Bests Franklin Pierce, 3-1
RINDGE, N.H. (Sept. 26, 2003) –
The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team fell to Pace
University, 3-1, in Northeast-10 Conference volleyball action at
the Franklin Pierce Fieldhouse this evening.
Andrea Cotoranu (Baia Mare, Romania/Eminescu) led the Setters with
21 kills while sophomore Stephanie Matuza Centereach, N.Y./Ward
Melville ) aided the attack with 51 assists and four service aces.
Freshman Nicole Nixon (Rahway, N.J./Rahway) contributed 21 digs in
the win.
Freshman Christina Collett
(Tombstone, Ariz/Tombstone) led the Ravens with 14 kills and
Bethany Findley (Clinton,
Conn./Morgan School) posted 34 assists. Michelle McConnell (Elora, Ontario/Centre
Wellington) registered five service aces and 12 kills
despite the loss.
Franklin Pierce (6-5, 2-4 NE-10) returns to action on Tuesday when
they travel to Green Mountain College for a match at 6:30 p.m. Pace
(7-5, 3-2 NE-10) next faces UMass Lowell tomorrow at 1 p.m.
