UMass Lowell Spikes Franklin Pierce, 3-0

RINDGE, N.H. (Nov. 5, 2002) - The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team closed out the Northeast-10 Conference regular season with a 3-0 loss to UMass Lowell this evening in the Franklin Pierce Field house.

The River Hawks were led by senior Stacey Graf who recorded 12 kills, five aces and 14 digs in the win. Sophomore Lauren Dufresne added ten kills and three blocks, while senior Jamie Guyer posted nine kills and a match-high eight blocks.

Junior setter Andrea Turner dished a match-high 44 assists to go along with 11 kills and four service aces.

The Ravens were led by seniors Mandy Johnson (Orange, Mass./Maher Regional), Catrina Cuevas (Aurora, Colo./J.I. O'Neill (N.Y.)) and Heidi Jensen (S. Glens Falls, N.Y./S. Glens Falls), who played in their final match as members of the Franklin Pierce University
volleyball team. Johnson recorded a team-best nine kills to go along with three blocks and ten digs, while Cuevas added seven kills, seven assists and 12 digs. Jensen totaled five kills and ten digs.

Junior setter Bethany Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) totaled 17 helpers and two aces, while freshman Tara Vece (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) registered 17 digs.

The Ravens finish up the regular season with a 14-10 record overall, 6-8 in the Northeast-10 Conference and are awaiting the news of a Northeast-10 Conference Tournament bid. UMass Lowell finishes its regular season with a 23-9 record overall, 12-2 clip in the NE-10 Conference. The River Hawks will next travel to Smithfield, R.I. to participate in the Conference Tourney on Friday.
