RINDGE, N.H. (Oct. 23, 2002) - Senior Mandy Johnson (Orange, Mass./Maher Regional) recorded 14 kills and 17 digs to lead Franklin Pierce to a 3-0 victory over Colby Sawyer College in non-conference volleyball action at the FP Fieldhouse this evening.

Classmate Catrina Cuevas (Aurora, Colo./J.I. O'Neill (N.Y.)) followed with 11 kills, 13 assists and ten digs in the win, while junior setter, Bethany Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) dished a match-high 21 assists. Freshman Tara Vece (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) led the defense with 17 digs.

Colby Sawyer freshman Kathy Couture led the Chargers with eight kills, ten digs and three aces. Junior Mary Ann Prescott added seven kills and eight digs. Freshman Anne Coulter posted seven digs while classmate Becky Shaffer totaled 18 assists.

Franklin Pierce (10-9, 4-7 NE-10) returns to action this weekend when it travels to Stonehill College for the Stonehill Invitational starting on Saturday at 11 a.m. Colby Sawyer (10-13, 6-2 CCC) next travels to Saint Michael's College on Saturday for a non-conference match at 11 a.m.
