Franklin Pierce Fights Past Assumption, 3-0
RINDGE, N.H. (Oct. 17, 2002) - The
Franklin Pierce University volleyball erased a five-point deficit
in game three to seal a 3-0 win over Assumption College this
evening in Northeast-10 Conference volleyball action at the FP
Fieldhouse this evening.
Senior Mandy Johnson (Orange,
Mass./Maher Regional) led the way with 16 kills, three aces
and 15 digs, while classmate Catrina Cuevas (Aurora, Colo./J.I. O'Neill
(N.Y.)) dished 21 assists and 15 digs in the win. Senior
Heidi Jensen (S. Glens Falls,
N.Y./S. Glens Falls) posted 12 kills and seven digs, while
freshman Tara Vece (Clinton,
Conn./Morgan School) recorded a team-high 18 digs.
Senior Lindsay Ryan totaled 13 kills and three blocks, while
classmate Annie LeClerc registered a match-high 21 digs and six
aces. Freshman setter Lindy Dhulst added 52 assists.
Franklin Pierce (9-9, 4-7 NE-10) returns to action on Saturday,
when it travels to Saint Michael's College for a Northeast-10
Conference tri-match with Le Moyne starting at 2:30 p.m. Assumption
(10-13, 3-6 NE-10) returns to the court on Tuesday, Oct. 22, when
it hosts American International College in a League matchup at 7
p.m.
