Franklin Pierce Upsets Saint Rose, 3-1
Senior Mandy Johnson records a match-high 22 kills to lead Ravens
RINDGE, N.H. (Oct. 6, 2002) - The
Franklin Pierce University volleyball team recorded a 3-1 win over
the College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference volleyball
action at the Franklin Pierce Fieldhouse this afternoon.
Senior Mandy Johnson (Orange,
Mass./Maher Regional) registered a match-high 22 kills to go
along with 16 digs, three aces and three blocks to lead the Ravens.
Junior setter Bethany Findley
(Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) recorded 22 assists, while
senior Catrina Cuevas (Aurora,
Colo./J.I. O'Neill (N.Y.)) added nine kills, 18 assists and
16 digs in the win.
Senior Heidi Jensen (S. Glens
Falls, N.Y./S. Glens Falls) and freshman Tara Vece (Clinton, Conn./Morgan
School) both totaled a team-high 19 digs for the Ravens.
Saint Rose setter, Amy Zolendjeski dished a match-high 42 assists
for the Golden Knights.
Junior Jessica Euell led the offense with 15 kills, while
classmate Kristen Gaudreau added 14 kills and four blocks. Junior
Victoria Fede posted 17 digs despite the loss.
Franklin Pierce (8-7, 3-5 NE-10) returns to action on Wednesday
when it travels to Southern New Hampshire University for a League
match at 7 p.m. Saint Rose (8-11, 2-2 NE-10) next travels to Union
on Wednesday for a non-conference match at 7 p.m.
