Franklin Pierce Handles Teikyo Post, 3-0
RINDGE, N.H. (Oct. 1, 2002) - The
Franklin Pierce University volleyball team posted a 3-0 win over
Teikyo Post University in non-conference volleyball action at the
FP Fieldhouse this evening.
Leading the way for the Ravens was senior Catrina Cuevas (Aurora, Colo./J.I. O'Neill
(N.Y.)) who recorded a team-high nine kills and 11 digs to
go along with 13 assists. Following close behind was classmate
Mandy Johnson (Orange, Mass./Maher
Regional) who totaled eight kills, five aces and seven
digs.
Freshman Tara Vece (Clinton,
Conn./Morgan School) recorded 10 digs, while classmate Lindsey Volhardt (Clinton, Conn./Morgan
School) registered a season-best six kills in the win.
Junior setter Bethany Findley
(Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) dished 15 assists to help the
cause.
Teikyo Post junior, Jennifer Giarratano, led the Eagles with ten
kills, four digs and one ace, while sophomore Melissa Czeremcha
totaled six kills and five digs. Sophomore setter Courtney McGinnis
registered a match-high 20 assists.
The Ravens (6-6, 2-4 NE-10) return to action on Thursday when they
take on Rivier College in a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m. Teikyo
Post (10-7, 4-2 CACC) next hosts College of Saint Rose on Thursday
in a non-conference match at 7 p.m.
