FLYING SOLO: Errahili Ties for 14th in High Jump at 2023 NCAA DII Indoor Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (3/12/23) – In her first-ever trip to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, sophomore Nouhayla Errahili (Fez, Morroco) finished tied for 14th in the Women's High Jump, ranking out of a pool of 17 total competitors in the event.

Errahili was the first member of the indoor program to make the trek to the NCAA National Championship since former Ravens Paola Brena and Hugo Arlabosse did in the 2020 season. Errahili also became the 14th women's member to make the trip in Track & Field/Cross Country program history, and the 50th all-time between both sides.

Earlier in the season, Errahili hit NCAA provisional standards at the Northeast-10 Championships on March 16th, clearing a height of 1.71 meters. The mark was also logged down as the second best height cleared in women's indoor program history. At the National Championship, Errahili cleared a bar of 1.64 meters to draw with West Texas A&M's Brooke Urban for 14th overall, but managed to beat out Cedarville's Hannah Willow.

Errahili, this season, received frequent recognition from the Northeast-10 Conference, claiming two Women's Field Rookie of the Week accolades, as well as the Conference's Women's Field Rookie of the Year honor.

Franklin Pierce Track & Field will now turn their attentions to the fast approaching outdoor season, where they will open at the Lynchburg Invitational on March 24th and 25th, hosted by the University of Lynchburg (Virginia).
