NEW ORLEANS (August 7, 2019) – Senior Lilian Baah (Danielson, Conn.) and freshman Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team, along with sophomore Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) and junior Trevor Guay (Londonderry, N.H.) of the men’s team, have all earned All-Academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, as announced late last month by the USTFCCCA. In addition, both the men’s and women’s squads were honored as All-Academic Teams by the USTFCCCA.

The USTFCCCA bestows All-Academic honors on those who compile a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or better and meet either the automatic or provisional NCAA Championships qualifying standards in an event during either the indoor or outdoor campaigns. To be honored as a team, a squad must carry at least a 3.0 GPA.

Baah was a two-time All-East Region performer in 2018-19, as she earned the honor in the triple jump during both the indoor (11.77m) and outdoor (11.92m). She took home the outdoor New England title in the event as well, while also finishing third at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships in each season.

Meanwhile, Brena captured NE10 Field Rookie of the Year accolades in both the indoor and outdoor seasons, as she burst onto the scene as a freshman. She qualified for the NCAA Championships in the high jump in both seasons, including a tie for eighth at the outdoor event, which was good enough to earn All-America accolades as well. Brena picked up All-Region honors for both the indoor (1.70m) and outdoor (1.74m) seasons and claimed the NE10 indoor title in the event.

On the men’s side, Arlabosse was a two-time national qualifier as well, as he picked up All-Region plaudits in the 800 meters in both the indoor (1:49.76) and outdoor (1:50.10) seasons. He earned All-America honors during the indoor season by finishing fifth, while he narrowly missed his second All-America honor of the year with a 13th-place finish at the outdoor meet. Arlabosse was the NE10 champion in the 800 meters for both the indoor and outdoor seasons. He was also named an NE10 Academic All-Conference selection for outdoor track & field earlier this summer.

For his part, Guay was also a two-time All-Region selection, as he was honored for his work in the 400 meters during the indoor season (48.35) and the 400-meter hurdles during the outdoor seasons (53.01). He finished third in the 400 meters at the indoor NE10 Championships and second in the 400-meter hurdles at the outdoor meet.

Both Ravens squads were honored at the team level as well, with the men carrying a 3.28 GPA and the women sporting a 3.22 GPA.
